6/19: Fortune Street: Impressions

Me and my big mouth. Apparently it was a jinx to say I was done with Mario-related E3 content.

Because of this. Fortune Street, due this fall. Monopoly meets Mario Party, based on a longrunning Japanese hit making its way to the US shores for the first time.

Basically, this is a "Mario" game the same way that SSX is a Mario game. But he's in both of them, so we should check out the Japanese board game video game to see what it's like.

0:05: Go-getter music!
0:10: Already there's more action than any Mario Party game.
0:14: Yes, she said slimes: there are Dragon Warrior characters in here as well. And look at the level map: it's a slime, too!
0:19: Bowser, of course: he's Mario's Plus-one.
0:20: A DIVIDEND! It's like they know exactly what kids want! Maybe it'll be free of capital gains taxes!
0:31: Question blocks, Toad, those angry blocks that stomp down: there are a lot of Mushroom Kingdom elements worked into the game. Mario's not just a skin imported onto Character X.
0:35: Don't let the ASCPA know they're racing slimes.
0:47: Promotion! Rising stock prices! Trips to the bank! I swear this was what I thought adults did all day when I was seven.
0:51: Ooh, sections of the board rotate.
1:08: was that the giant statue from Lost?
1:20: When did other people's end credits become a third the length of the entire trailer?
